Halifax into last 16
Halifax became the first team to reach the fifth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup thanks to a 56-4 fourth-round win at Co-operative Championship 1 club Swinton.
Two first-half tries from Australian stand-off Luke Branighan edged the visitors into a tenuous 12-4 interval lead and countrymen Shad Royston and Ben Black both touched down twice after the break as Halifax, the Cup winners in 1987, won at a canter to book their place in Sunday\'s draw for the last 16.
Said Tamghart, Mark Roberts, Sean Penkywicz and Steve Bannister scored Halifax\'s other tries and Lee Patterson kicked eight goals, while Barry Hamilton was Swinton\'s solitary tryscorer 10 minutes before half-time.
