Richard Marshall - Head Coach

Richard Marshall was announced as the club's new Head Coach for the start of the 2015 season following the departure of Karl Harrison. 

Marshall, who left his role as Assistant Coach at Warrington Wolves to join 'Fax, signed a three year deal and beat off a host of candidates from across the UK and overseas. As well as working alongside Tony Smith and the Wolves, Marshall was the England Academy Head Coach before leaving the role to focus on his role at The Shay.

Marshall will be remembered by 'Fax fans for his performances in a blue and white shirt and returns to the club as it looks to begin its road back to the Super League.

Marlon Billy - Assistant Coach

Following the announcement of Richard Marshall as Halifax RLFC's new Head Coach, the club also annouced that Marlon Billy would be his assistant. 

Billy joined after a spell at Swinton Lions where he was the Assistant Coach their during the 2014 season.

Martin Gonzalez - Head of Youth Development

Martin Gonzalez started with Halifax in 2000 and has undertaken a number of different roles from statistician, to his current role of Head of Youth Development Manager.

Currently he is in charge of the Club's Youth Development and is part of the first team match day set up.

Andy Holleyhead - Strength & Conditioning Coach

Andy Hollyhead is a fully qualified Sports Scientist. Marshall chose him from working with him previously at Warrington.

David Ferguson

David Ferguson - Physiotherapist

David holds an Honours degree in physiotherapy from Nottingham University. He has undergone an intense internship with David O 'Sullivan, the Head Physio at Huddersfield Giants before starting with Halifax RLFC in 2015.

Chris Rose - Assistant Coach

Chris began coaching at Halifax RLFC on the Scholarship programme in 2003 with Martin Gonzalez, as a coach with the U14 team. He also coached the Calderdale Service Area team at the time with players including current Fax prop, Luke Ambler and Jacob Fairbank of Huddersfield. Chris also worked within the RFL performance pathway at this time too as both an assistant coach and head coach on the Yorkshire Regional Camps between 2005 and 2007. 

He was on the coaching staff at Siddal ARLFC for a number of years and was the coach of the U18 National Youth League winning team along with former Halifax player, Steve Greenwood. He has held Scholarship and Academy positions at Salford City Reds, Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves and was also English Schools Coach between 2007 and 2011. He also had the privilege of working with a number of our current players within the international programme including Keith Holden, Ryan Maneely, Chris Taylor and James Saltonstall.

He has also worked in rugby union as Academy Coach and 1st Team Skills Coach at Chester RUFC. It gives him great pleasure to return to coach at the club he has supported all his life. 

Chris O'Connor - Lead Performance Analyst

Chris heads up Halifax RLFC's analysis team and has developed the analysis system that Halifax use to assess and develop the current first team squad. Both pre- and post-game analysis is mixed with live game coding to enable the coaching staff and players to analyse the individuals and whole teams performance.
