Toulouse Olympique and French International Prop/Second Row joins the pack..The newest addition to Halifax RLFC will arrive in the UK on Friday night.
Originally from Tarn, 20 year old Clement Boyer discovered rugby league when he was very young. He began at a Rugby School in Puygouzon Minimes and Cadets in Villefranche d'Albi and later played for Albi RL 1st year Juniors. He landed a place at the Toulouse Olympique Training Centre, he participated in 6 games in Toulouse 'Elite', whilst he was still in their Junior second team in 2012/2013. The following season (13/14), he signed for the Toulouse Olympique first team.
Clement has gained a lot of interest this year, being one of the most popular players of the Toulouse group, playing selected to play in all 24 games of their Season. Boyer is already an established player in the 'Elite' league in France, having played in a total of three grand finals by the age of 20! After being selected in all national youth categories, Clement was selected for France's Senior National Team for the first time in October 2014, for the second game of the European Championship, against Wales.
Head Coach, Richard Marshall was excited to announce the International signing, saying "I've got a great relationship with the Toulouse head coach, Sylvain Houles, who has spoken to me about Boyer a number of times. The first of which was about half way through the season. Since then, I've seen a lot of footage and can see he's a very exciting young prospect; with a strong running game and a good offload.
"Particularly now with Tyler Dickenson's loan period ending and him going back to Huddersfield, it is vital to keep an element of competition in our already motivated squad."
