Halifax RLFC are delighted to confirm the signing of young hooker Brandon Moore on a one year deal.

Moore joins the club after being named Castleford Tigers’ under 19s Player of the Year in 2015.

The Cumbrian is a former England Academy player, and will initially start his career at the club in the newly formed reserve grade team, although Head Coach Richard Marshall expects him to be putting pressure on players who are further up in the pecking order.

“Brandon’s taken a look at us and he obviously likes what he sees because he’s backed himself to come here,” said Marshall.

“Initially, he’s signed for the reserve grade, but there are incentives there for him if he make the step up to the first team.

“If I’m being honest, I’m a little surprised that Cas have let him go.

“He’s a strong, dynamic hooker with some skills and some speed and there’s definitely some potential there for us to work on.”

Moore will be hoping to emulate the success of another former Tigers youth star Ben Johnston, who has been able to establish himself as one of the best young players in the Championship since joining the club.
