Halifax RLFC can today announce that Prop Forward Mitch Cahalane will leave the club at the end of the season.
The Australian, signed ahead of the 2015 season from NSW Cup side Mounties, has spent three years with Fax but will return down under when his contract expires.
"I've enjoyed my time at Halifax" said Cahalane. "It's a good club, a good set of lads and the people are great. I will miss the place but I feel
the time is right for me to return home to my family in Sydney. There have been some real highlights, making the Qualifiers 2 out of my 3 seasons has been very good. When we beat Leigh in the first year (of the qualifiers), that was a highlight for me."
Head coach Richard Marshall added: "Mitch has been a good member of our squad during my tenure at the club. He's a tough, uncompromising player and has been a staple of our pack over the last 3 years.
He's decided he wants to be nearer to his family, and as we all know family comes first. He's been a good player for us and we'd like to wish Mitch and his family luck for the future."
The club would like to thank Mitch for his efforts in a blue and white shirt and wish him and his family all the best going forward.
