Christmas is a time of excitement and joy for many across the globe, as families and friends gather to celebrate the year that has passed and the memories made. It is also a time for helping those less fortunate than ourselves and doing our part for charity.
We will make our annual visit to Calderdale Royal Children’s Ward on Tuesday 19th December to bring season’s greetings and Christmas joy to patients and family alike.
Simon Oxby of Berry’s Jewellers, also Halifax RLFC Operations Director, has pledged £100 for gifts for the children. And he’s enlisted the help of other local businesses to help raise donation funds.
Fidelity Payment Solutions, Annabelle Charles Associates, Cinnamon Café and Polypipe Civil Division have all matched the £100 pledge. This will allow us to donate to the Children's Ward of Calderdale Royal Hospital and also give presents to low-income families via The Ebenezer Mission plus a donation will also be made to Overgate hospice.
We’d like to thank Simon at Berry's, Barry Weiner at Fidelity, Henry Hodgskin-Bradbury and Amy Haggerty at Cinnamon Café, Annabelle Pounder at Annabelle Charles Associates and Glenn McDowell at Polypipe for their extremely kind donations. This is a great gesture and the money will go a long way to providing some Christmas cheer for local people this December.
