BREAKING: Dan Murray Joins on 1 Month Loan Deal

Halifax RLFC are pleased to announce that Prop Forward Daniel Murray has joined the club on an initial 1-month loan deal from Super League side Salford Red Devils.

Murray, who spent time with Fax on dual registration during 2017, made 6 appearances for the club last year and Head Coach Richard Marshall is pleased to have him on board once again.

"Dan fitted in really well last year and I think he has improved even further over the offseason. I've kept my eye on him and spoken to his coaches. We must give thanks to Salford for making us aware of Dan's availability."

"He'll be coming with a point to prove as well because he's a super league quality player but we're lucky to have him and he'll add a bit more competition to our pack. We felt we needed a bit more experience and a bit of punch in our pack and we know what he can offer the group."

"I think he'll add to us with his running game, he's a strong physical presence and he'll be better for this experience.  Our pack needs to be more ruthless in its approach and I think Dan will add to that."

"We've got some other boys waiting in the wings as well who've played reserve grade and they're not far off but we want to take our time with that. We know what to expect with Dan. We're really looking forward to working with him for the next four weeks and hopefully we can improve him
and he can fight for a place back in the Salford team if we don't keep hold of him."

Speaking earlier Today, Murray was happy to be pulling on the blue and white of Halifax once again.

"I'm really looking forward to playing with Halifax on Sunday", said Murray. "It's good to be back. They've got some quality lads in the team and playing with those sort of players will obviously help my development. The championship is a competitive league again this year so it'll be great to come up
against the top teams in the league. Thank you to Rich for giving me the opportunity to play some first team rugby because that's what I need to develop further."
