Head coach Richard Marshall praised his side's mental toughness after Halifax's 32-18 victory away to Batley Bulldogs at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium.
Fax had won just one of their last five matches away to Batley prior to this fixture but a double from Ben Heaton and scores from Steve Tyrer, Chester Butler and Ben Johnston earned a valuable two points which sees Halifax go third in the Betfred Championship table.
"We had to come here and do a job, we couldn't contemplate coming here and not winning," Marshall told FaxTV after the game. "We won the hard way but again we haven't put two halves of rugby together."
"In the second half, I thought we were really tough and resilient and weathered the storm coming up the hill, because here is a really tough place to play. We started really well and we've spoke about the intent to start strongly."
"It's probably the concentration for the full 80 (minutes) that we need to look at and work on. We've got to be tough going forward but we've also got to be a lot smarter."
Marshall also hailed the contribution of Man of the Match Chester Butler as well as the travelling Halifax supporters.
"I thought Chester Butler had an outstanding game on the right edge and set up a really nice try for Ben Heaton and had some really strong carries as well," he continued.
"The players have also mentioned the impact of our fans who filled that stand. They had an influence on how we played today and they took us over the line. I think they were really vocal and the atmosphere was fantastic. I certainly helped us and we've got to thank them for coming out in such numbers and we'll need the same next week over at Leigh."
"If you'd have interviewed me in pre-season and said this is where we would be (in the table), I'd say we're in a good spot. If we can get our strongest team out next week, then we've got more than a chance in my opinion."
