Halifax RLFC Supporters Awards

Last night saw the 2018 Supporters Awards at the MBI Shay Stadium take place, which saw the likes of Club Captain Scott Murrell pick up the 1st Team Player of the Year award. Murrell has become a key figure both on the field and in the dressing room since his arrival at the MBi Shay Stadium from Hull KR in 2013.

Enjoying a Testimonial year in 2017/18, Murrell played a key part in the club's march to The Qualifiers in 2017 as the captain and an assistant coach.

In May, Murrell committed his future to Halifax by signing a new contract to remain with the Blue and Whites until the end of the 2019 season.

The highly rated 22-year-old Brandon Moore was also in the limelight after picking up the Top Tackler Award and the 1st Team Players Player of the Year.

2017 and 2018 have been so much as breakthrough years for Brandon Moore, who became a regular first-teamer after coming through the club's reserve grade last year. After closely missing out on the Betfred young player of the year last season, he was also nominated for young player of the year this season which he also did not win. Can next year be the year?
