Halifax RLFC are delighted to announce that outside back Will Sharp has signed a new contract extension to keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2019 season.
Sharp has been an integral part of the Halifax side since joining from Featherstone Rovers in 2016 and backed up his award-winning 2017 season with another solid campaign in 2018, staring at both full-back and on the wing.
The 32-year-old will enter his fourth season at Fax in 2019 and head coach Richard Marshall said that he was delighted to keep Sharp, amid plenty of interest from other clubs.
“I’m so pleased that Will’s re-signed because there was a lot of interest in him,” revealed Marshall.
“Will’s a fantastic player for us and he loves this club. If there is a player that always gives 100% on the field, he’s that player, and he epitomises everything that I love and look for in a rugby league player.”
“He takes the ball in at real speed every time and he’s always in the frame for carries. He’s a great bloke to coach as well and we’ve done really well to keep hold of him for the 2019 season.”
The club would also like to officially confirm the departure of Ben Heaton and Adam Tangata and wish them the very best for the future. Their efforts and commitment will forever be appreciated.
