Halifax RLFC are delighted to announce that forward Liam Cooper has rejoined the club on a season long loan from St Helens for the 2019 season.
Cooper featured four times for Halifax during the Super 8s Qualifiers last season, particularly impressing with his aggressive carries in the pack.
He has signed a new one-year deal with St Helens and has also agreed to join Fax for 2019.
The 22-year-old - who captained St Helens to the Academy Championship in 2016 - has also previously featured for Whitehaven and Sheffield Eagles.
Head coach Richard Marshall said of the move: “Liam put in some really good performances for us during the Qualifiers last season and I’m really pleased to have him on a season-long loan.”
“He’ll be doing some work with St Helens over pre-season but he’ll be training with us from January and we’ll be looking for him to be part of some of our upcoming friendlies.”
“Liam brings a utility value as he can play in either the front row or the back row. He can complement our existing pack really well.”
“He’s aggressive, he’s keen to learn and those are going to be great attributes for us in 2019.”
