Halifax RLFC are delighted to announce that James Woodburn-Hall has penned a deal with the club for the 2020 season, taking his stay in West Yorkshire into a fifth year.
Jamaican international Woodburn-Hall joined Fax back in 2016 from recently relegated Super League side London Broncos, and progressed quickly through the reserve grade ranks to earn a first team shirt, having made his debut during the Chamionship Shield campaign.
Head coach Simon Grix was happy to have the London native on board for another year at The Shay.
"James has been important for us this year with his versatility and showed glimpses of what he is capable of. Next year is an opportunity to stake his claim for a fixed position. I've told him on numerous occasions he is probably the most talented in the team and has all the tools to go as far as he wants. Consistency is the issue and we as coaches will work with him there but the challenge lies with James to produce."
The 24 year old utility back made 19 appearances in the blue and white during the 2019 season scoring 13 tries, including a memorable and decisive effort against neighbours Bradford Bulls in the Challenge Cup Quarter Finals, which helped secure the clubs first semi final spot since 1988.
"I'm buzzing to be doing another year at Halifax", said Woodburn-Hall. "I'm really enjoying myself at this club and it's a place where I really feel at home. Hopefully we can grow into this next year, get in the playoffs and give the fans something to shout about."
