Off the field projects

Danny Jones Memorial Game

In October 2015 we held a memorable charity match for one of our own, Danny Jones. Danny tragically passed away during last season, and was remembered by rugby league stars from across the globe.

A Halifax RLFC select XIII faced off against a World XIII at MBi Shay, with our very own Head Coach Richard Marshall taking to the field!

Stars such as Gareth Widdop (who kicked off the match), Keith Senior and Sean Long all featured as over £25,000 was raised in front of Danny’s wife Lizzie who raised the roof with her rendition of ‘Abide with Me’.

Our physical fans forums allow fans to voice their opinion on club matters and ask questions to players, coaching staff and the Board of Directors.

Events in the past have seen Richard Marshall and Chairman Michael Steele take centre stage, with more events planned throughout the 2016 season. We host Q & A forum sections at most of our fan events. To find out when the next one is, call the Club on 01422 342 792.

Hospital visits

Every Christmas, some of our first team squad players and our lovable mascot, Halicat visit Calderdale Royal Hospital for a special trip to the Children’s ward.

For the past two years, Mitch Cahalane, Adam Tangata, Scott Murrell and Luke Ambler gave each child a present, colouring supplies and chocolate, plus a free ticket to any home match in 2016, meaning that the smiles were back on the faces of the children when they found out they could come to a game for free when they are back on their feet.

MBi Cup

Siddal ARLFC’s under 10’s side triumphed in the MBi Cup which was one of our largest Club lead tournaments for juniors. The cup was played before the first team match against Leigh Centurions in 2015, and were rewarded by spending the evening with the first team squad at training!

Exchanging tactics with Richard Marshall and wresting with Marlon Billy was on the agenda as the youngsters had a night to remember for many years to come…

Christmas Light Switch On

Halifax RLFC turn out in force every year for the Halifax Town Centre ‘Christmas Light Switch On’ in November. In 2016, first teamer Luke Ambler, International players Mitch Cahalane and Adam Tangata, along with furry mascot, Halicat were on hand to lend a hand - and a chocolate bar.

Each year, we run a 'golden ticket' promotion for 5 lucky kids at the lights switch on, rewarding them with two tickets to a VIP event with the first team squad!

Last year, fans chose the name of the bars, as Halifax RLFC's first ever chocolate bar came to life - the Scrumptious Hollyfax Bar. With 400 snapped up by all the hungry Christmas shoppers, that's the end of a limited edition run!
